Heather honey (pure monofloral from Erica arborea – white heather or bruc – with accompanying species) is one of the most unique varieties in Catalonia. Harvested from the heather fields of the Natural Park of Les Gavarres (Baix Empordà, Girona). Its intense mahogany colour, strong woody aroma and sweet-bitter persistent flavour make it special. It crystallises very quickly into a creamy texture – never mild!
Properties of heather honey
- Diuretic and urinary tract support: Increases diuresis, helps with cystitis, fluid retention, kidney stones and bladder/kidney inflammation.
