Create with your hands, connect with nature
What will you do?
You will learn two completely different techniques. First, the traditional method: melting beeswax and pouring it into cane moulds to make rustic, natural candles just as they were made for centuries. Then the modern rolling technique: taking beeswax sheets and creating candles of varied shapes. You will leave with your own creations.
Who is it for?
The workshop is ideal for couples, friends, families with children aged 8 and over, corporate groups (team building), hen and stag parties, birthdays and any group looking for a different artisan experience. No prior knowledge is needed: everything is taught from scratch. The language adapts to the group (Catalan, Spanish or English). Book with a minimum of 4 people and we will arrange the date that suits you best.

How does the workshop work?
Bees and wax: an introduction alongside a hive
We start with an explanation of the beeswax cycle: how bees produce it, what they use it for inside the hive, and why it is the ideal material for top-quality artisan candles. All while getting a close look at a reference hive.
Traditional candles: melting wax in cane moulds
You will learn the age-old artisan method: melting beeswax and pouring it into cane moulds. A technique used for centuries to produce rustic, natural cylindrical candles with a warm, unmistakable glow.
Rolled candles: shapes and decoration
The most creative part. You take beeswax sheets and roll them into candles of any shape, adding natural aromatic. Mix colours, add decorations and fully personalise every candle.
Visit to the Mas Entreserra shop
To finish, we visit the shop where you can taste our artisanal honey, cold-extracted to preserve all its properties, as well as natural cosmetics and candles. The best place to take home an authentic souvenir.

Beeswax candle workshop in the Baix Empordà
At Mas Entreserra we offer artisan beeswax candle-making workshops for groups of 4 to 10 people, available all year round in Casavells, in the heart of the Baix Empordà. Beeswax is one of the most noble products of the hive: young worker bees produce it to build the combs where the brood is raised and where honey is stored. It has an unmistakable scent — honey and wildflowers — and its natural properties make it ideal for artisan candles that burn slowly, cleanly and aromatically.
Two methods: the tradition of cane moulds and the modernity of rolled candles
The workshop covers two clearly distinct techniques. The first is the traditional method: melting beeswax and pouring it into cane moulds, an age-old technique that produces rustic cylindrical candles identical to how they were made for centuries. The second is the modern rolling method: taking pressed beeswax sheets and rolling them by hand to create candles of any shape and decorative elements. Both techniques are explained from scratch and suited to all skill levels.
Why choose beeswax for candle making?
Pure beeswax candles burn far more slowly and cleanly than paraffin or industrial stearin candles. They emit a warm and slightly golden light, and release a natural honey and pollen scent that purifies the air. Beeswax is a 100% natural, renewable, biodegradable and completely safe material. The artisan candles you make at the Mas Entreserra workshop will be a unique souvenir of an experience in the heart of the Empordà countryside, and you will be able to keep practising at home with the techniques you have learned.
